Interview Huck Milner and Sarah Vowell, Incredibles 2

Incredibles 2 is already in theaters, we talk to Huck Milner and Sarah Vowell the voices of the Dash and Violet, Incredibles 2 siblings.

Huck Milner and Sarah Vowell

Dash, is Violet’s younger brother and he has the super power of speed. Violet on the other hand can become invisible and makes protective camps around them when there is danger.

Interview Huck Milner, dash voice

The first question was for Huck Milner, the voice of Dash: Who’s your favorite superhero? Probably Dash. And the second seed? Maybe Flash said between smiles. “I like fast people, just because they’re fast.” When we asked him if he was a fan of the first Incredibles he said yes, “My dad showed me the movie and I really loved it.”

Huck Milner told us that he lives in New York and that last year he was at Disneyland, for D23, told us it was a lot of fun. “Brad Bird (Director of Incredibles 2) made it a lot of fun and amazing.

For her part, Sarah told us that she trusts Brad Bird a lot, especially after the first film. “He always uses the best shot and is really entertaining. You know, Brad Bird does the voice of Edna Mode.

He is an exceptional voice actor, so he does all the other things,” he said.

Interview with Sarah Vowell, violet’s voice

Sarah told us that it’s really fun to do things that come out natural and for her it’s Violet’s sarcasm. “She’s a sarcastic guy, and that’s who I am.”

She also told us that Director Brad Bird was very helpful in the most emotional scenes, such as a scene in which Violet had to cry. “Brad helped me a lot, he was very delicate and very respectful. You know how the number of people who really believe in one and know what to do with one, that’s a pretty small number. And he certainly believed for me.”

Sarah, how did you get a call to make the first Incredibles movie?

“It was because they were casting or thinking about doing it for the first movie, I think Brad was in his car listening to the radio and he heard one of my public radio documentaries and so it was taken with the seriousness and maturity of my voice , which made me a high school student he heard from a high school student who becomes a superhero.”

Voice of Violet Incredibles 2

Violet’s voice told us that she was very happy to replay her role and that “once you’re one of those characters – you’re going to learn that – she said addressing Huck, you’re going to be Dash until you die.”

What super power would you like to have?

For Huck Milner if I could choose a super power would be speed, like Dash, “probably because I’m very slow in real life” he laughed, I can’t beat my cousins to my sisters in games that have to do with running, so I’d like to be able to go somewhere and come back and make it like I was there the whole time, so I’d love to have the power of Dash.”

Sarah Vowell, for her part got a laugh when she said,” “As a lady in middle age, I’d love to have super strength, because I don’t know if you guys have those rubber things to open things, it wouldn’t be great to barte a jar of jam pr yourself without having to boil water in the kettle, place the pot and then use the thing to open the bottle?”

About seeing your character in products or toys

Huck and Sarah started teasing each other: Huck told us he has a doll with his voice, which is a lot of fun and he thinks he’s pressed that button more than a hundred times.

We asked Huck when he decided to be an actor to what he replied to that he never really decided “when I was four years old, my sisters were performing in plays and they introduced me to the plays. I really liked it, so I loved the theater.

About the scene of their characters that has them very proud, their moment “super hero”

Sarah: “In the first movie (of Incredibles), that is, I’m not even part of this moment. In fact, it’s the animators and the music, but there’s a moment in the cave and Violet, you know when they’re on the island and they have to go save Bob and Violet is like, I don’t know if I can do it and the mom tells her, you have to do it. And she decides okay I’ll try it, she comes out of the cave, stops and you know, she almost does the hero super pose and puts on her mask,” she said.

“My favorite part of my character, in the new movie, is not a superhero part. I like it when he (Dash) is pressing buttons. Pulling the couch into the fountain,” he said with a laugh.

The actors told us that they didn’t make recordings together, that they met in the film and “yes, that’s when we discovered the sibling rivalry,” Dash’s voice said.

He definitely said Sarah, you know, he’s 10 years old and has more energy than me. At the end of the day I would sit still and he would literally run in circles around me.

Sarah, about her violet character

“Like all family members, their powers stem from the psychology of what that person is in his or her stage of life. So a ten-year-old has a lot of energy and runs around. And so you know, the fact that Violet, especially when the first film starts, has not yet developed her powers, but she has them and reflect some of her insecurities and her annoyances.

Violet, Incredible 2
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT – In the midst of battling the Underminer villain, Violet protects her family by throwing one of her most super force fields yet. Featuring Sarah Vowell as the voice of Violet, Holly Hunter as the voice of Helen, Craig T. Nelson as the voice of Bob and Huck Milner as the voice of Dash, Disney•Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” busts into theaters on June 15, 2018. ©2018 Disney•Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

So, becoming invisible is kind of a teenage thing you want to hide. And also his force fields, as I don’t want to let you in. But then she develops her powers and becomes herself, enjoys using her powers, then she turns them into her strength, you know. Those powers really reflect what she can do and not what she’s afraid of, I think.”

About the political messages in the film.

Sarah replied, “I think you mean Elastigirl goes and works outside the house and Bob stays home to take care of the kids. It’s the story of a time, and that’s interesting. And you know, I think politically convincing but also hilarious, because he’s just trying to reign in his jealousy.

But in the end when everyone is working together, I mean the ultimate goal, I would say cultural to us as a society, maybe everyone gets to become the person who is supposed to be and become what they are equally and they all work together. And each with his own individual powers, using it collectively for the greater good.

For me, that’s exciting, an interesting and functional society where everyone gets to do that. And when you see everyone working together, Frozone and his family, and every person contributing, you all know where they’re the best, like – I don’t know if it’s political but – you know, it’s the country want to live in.

With this, we said goodbye to them, and very friendly and between jokes and laughter posed with us for a photo of the group.

What are Walt Disney World Magic Bands?

You’ve probably seen photos of Walt Disney World visitors wearing bracelets with a Mickey silhouette, but do you know what Walt Disney World’s Magic Bands are and what they serve?

We are preparing for our trip to Disney Social Media Moms Celebration 2018 next month and this week we received the Magic Bands. It’s not the first time we’ve been to Disney, but if it’s the first time we’ve received the MagicBands, so I had to learn what it’s for, if you don’t know them here, I’ll talk about it.

Magicbands are modern, colorful and waterproof bracelets that look like a watch or bracelet. They are available only for Walt Disney World Resort guests – paper tickets are used at Disneyland.

disney bracelets

If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel or if you are a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder you will automatically receive your MagicBands, otherwise you will receive a card when you purchase your park tickets.

You can also purchase a MagicBand online, at some Walt Disney World stores or online, but shipping is not available for all countries. You can find special offers from limited editions of MagicBands that bring surprises like light or sound effects when you use them on the touch point.

MagicBands are all-in-one gadgets that allow you to access the plans you made on the My Disney Experience website. They work very much like the Key to the World plastic cards that were previously used, but these cards were removed in 2013.

With MagicBands and cards, you can easily touch a sensor called touch point, the difference is that you put them like a bracelet and you forget everything, instead the card is like you bring a credit card or separate license.

On the DisneyWorld site, you can customize the colors of your MagicBands as long as you do so at least eleven days before your arrival at your Walt Disney World resort vacation and once they are connected to your account, the wristbands can be interchangeable among your family.

what they are and what magic bands are for

MagicBands are used to:

  • Open your bedroom door at the Disney Resort hotel.
  • Make purchases of food and merchandise and upload them to your Disney Resort hotel room during your stay.
  • Enter Disney Parks, after you have purchased your ticket. (Including water parks).
  • Connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account.
  • Check in the FastPass and ride tickets.

With MagicBands you can also unlock special surprises through your time at Walt Disney World Resort.

Another thing, MagicBands are reusable, so if you plan to return to Walt Disney World Resort soon you can use them again. Don’t forget your MagicBands, remember that you will use them to check in on the Magical Express and to open the door of your room.

Have a magical holiday!

Visit to The Walt Disney Family Museum

Inside The WALT DISNEY FAMILY Museum, you'll find the temporary exhibition "Deja View: The Art of Andreas Deja" where you can see characters like Scar, the villain of The Lion King, The Lion King.

A few weeks ago, during the Disney Coco Pixar event, I had the opportunity to visit The Walt Disney Family Museum's museum for the first time. The museum is located in San Francisco, California and features interactive galleys dedicated to the life and legacy of Walt Disney, as well as various temporary special exhibits.

As you may know, I'm a fan of Disney and its movies; Besides, I love museums, so this was the perfect combination for a good walk. Here's a little bit of what you can find at The Walt Disney Family Museum:

ANDREAS LEAVES THE WALT DISNEY FAMILY MUSEUM
Deja View Exhibition: The Art of Andreas Deja (Until October 9, 2017)

We start the tour, visiting the new original exhibition Deja View: The Art of Andreas Deja, which shows some of the work of this animation artist.

Andreas Deja has been one of the most versatile character animators, hired by The Walt Disney Studios in 1980. The exhibition shows drawing sketches on paper and pencil, models of wire and pulp sculptures, and digital animation sequences of some of his characters.

Remember Scar, the main villain of The Lion King or The Lion King? This cunning and evil villain of elegant mane, is the creation of Andreas Deja. Other characters include Jafar, Gaston, Hercules, Mama Odie and Lilo.

The Lion King (1994) was just released on Digital and Disney Movies Anywhere on August 15th and this next August 29th will be the premiere on Blu-ray, it's a good opportunity to see the family movie with new generations as my daughter.

The exhibition Deja View: The Art of Andreas Deja Deja also shows a bit of his independent projects as his next premiere film: Mushka.

AWAKING BEAUTY: THE ART OF EYVIND EARLE (Until January 8, 2018)

From there, we walked a little and headed to an attached building to see the exhibition Awaking Beauty: The Art of by Eyvind Earle, which shows the life and work of the artist, known for being his works in some Walt Disney classics such as: Sleeping Sleeping Beauty (1959), The Lady and the Knight (Lady and the Tramp 1955) and Peter Pan (1953).

Here you can see excellent colorful works and very elaborated with different techniques used by the artist, such as scratchboards, screen printing, sculptures; not only From Walt Disney, but also spectacular landscapes and illustrations.

WALT DISNEY GALLERIES

Finally, we toured ten galleries showing the most important moments in Walt Disney's life, from his birth, marriage, career and until his death, on December 15, 1966.

Inside these galleries, you can get an idea of what Walt Disney's life was like with his parents, living on a Missouri farm, his career as an illustrator and photographer during High School and his beginnings at his first animation studio.

His arrival in Hollywood; caricatures of his first character: Oswald, the lucky rabbit; who later lost and led him to create the most famous of his characters: the Mickey mouse, which bears this name thanks to his wife, Lillian Bounds; because Walt thought about naming him Mortimer. Walt Disney received an Oscar for the creation of the Mockey Mouse.

You can also see the creation and evolution of his first characters, the invention of the storyboard and his family life as the father of two daughters. In addition to awards, collection of personal objects, photographs, data from your visit to Latin America, a spectacular model of Disneyland among many other things.

The premiere of Snow White: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, his first animated film was a success, which led him to win the Oscar with a very peculiar statuette, with seven figurines representing the famous dwarves, the award was presented to Walt by actress Shirley Temple in 1939. Did you know that Walt Disney holds the record for the most Academy Awards received?

After this, came many new characters, projects, films that led to the creation of the theme park of his dreams: Disneyland that there is much to tell. But the saddest galleria; it was that of drawings and emotional cartoons with the news of the day of his death, which reflect the sadness he left.

This is one of the banks of Griffith Park where Walt Disney spent hours on weekends, while his daughters strolled on the carousel.

On your next visit to San Francisco, I recommend you go to The Walt Disney Family Museum, in addition to the exhibits, the view of the Golden Gate Bridge is spectacular!

Here comes the new in Cars Land Disney California Adventure, “Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters” coming rolling with celebrations and fun.

We have had the opportunity to be in Cars Land and let me tell you that there is nothing missing to have an excellent time of fun with the family and if that were not enough this next 7 thy slam sat in Casa Della Tires.

In this new attraction, twenty Luigi cousins arrive from Carsoli, Italy, to help celebrate race day or Race Day in Radiator Springs with music and dancing at Casa Della Tires.

LUIGI'S ROLLICKIN' ROADSTERS (ANAHEIM, Calif.) – Opening March 7, 2016, Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters is an exciting new attraction in Cars Land, at Disney California Adventure Park. At Casa Della Tires, miniature Italian roadsters (Luigi's cousins) move to upbeat music as they perform the traditional dances of their hometown village, Carsoli, Italy. Guests are able to ride along with Luigi's cousins as they glide and spin across a trackless "dance floor." Each dancing car has its own high-spirited personality and signature dance moves, allowing guests to enjoy a different ride experience depending on which car they board. Visitors to Cars Land, Disney California Adventure are invited to join the celebration, hoping aboard the miniature Italian cars of Luigi‘s Rollickin’ Roadsters, inspired by the micro cars of the late 1950s.

Each cousin performs Carsoli’s traditional dances, moving with Luigi’s music and cheerful singing in a dance with precision choreography through what appears to be a “dance track”.

“Here in Luigi, cars seem to have a mind of their own,” said Kevin Rafferty, creative CEO of Walt Disney Imagineering, “When you get back on, you’re likely to enjoy a special experience they like to carry out.”

The Primos de Luigi from Carsoli, Italy:

– A roadster is a two-seat convertible car. While Luigi is a Fiat 500, his cousins are a car brand invented by Walt Disney Imagineering, called Frizzante, which had never been seen on Route 66. Now, they are exclusive to Cars Land.
– Half of Luigi’s cousins are men, and half are women. Guests can identify them by the chrome front of the grill or “bigote” on the male roadsters.
– All members of Luigi’s family have their own names and looks, except for two uniquely colored coral cars. Although they are identical sisters, guests may notice that Rosa has green eyes, and Gina has blue eyes.
– Vehicles have Italian license plates representing the place of their registration: their hometown of Carsoli, Italy.
Each roadster performs its own routine, which offers a different driving experience depending on which car guests get on, and which song is playing.

Luigi Rollickin’ Roadster is Disney’s first attraction in the United States with a trackless or roadless walking system. Luigi is a big fan of Italian Formula Racer, Francesco Bernoulli of the Disney film • Pixar Cars 2, so much so that he created a very special moment in his garden to show a topiario or “Autopiary” of his legendary hero.

In addition to dancing, Luigi and his cousins also sing backing vocals of the songs heard at the attraction. In the attraction you can listen to these songs:

or “Rollicking Night and day” – sung by Luigi himself
or “Mambo Italiano” – sung by Rosetta’s cousin
or “The Tire-antella” – with calls from Luigi
or “Hey, Cumpari” – sung by cousin Lou
or “Funiculi Funicula” – with calls from Luigi

So you know, if you visit Cars Land at Disney Califronia Adventure, don’t miss out on visiting the new attraction!

Disney Disability Access Service (DAS)

Disney announced changes to the Guest Assistance with Disabilities program called the Guest Assistance Program (GAC), which is offered at Walt Disney World and Disneyland for free. It now called Disability Access Service (DAS).

The Disability Access Service or program will give guests time for an attraction based on the current timeout.

Disney received assistance in developing the new card, relating to groups of people with special abilities, such as Autism Speaks.

With this card, the disabled person and up to five members of their family can move to attractions, almost directly, through a special row.

By creating the new card, Disney is creating a more consistent experience for all of its guests, including people with special abilities.

People eligible for the Disability Access Service are those who cannot wait their turn at park attractions in a conventional environment, due to a disability, whether apparent or not.
