Fideo with ground beef is a “sopa agüada” as we called this watery soups in Mexico, this is one of my children’s favorites. This Mexican ground beef soup it is made with my Grandma recipe.
fideo with ground beef
1 lb (1/2 kg) ground beef meat
1/4 teaspoon oil
2 tomatoes (Or tomato broth powder)
1 serrano chille or optional jalapeño
3 lts of water
2 Garlic cloves
Cook the ground beef meat in a liter of boiling water. Add pepper, a garlic clove, 1/4 onion and salt to taste. Remove from the fire when meat is brown.
Blend two tomatoes and one garlic in two litres of water. (This can be replaced by water with tomato broth power).
Heat the oil in a saucepan, add fideos and keep stirring, add 1/4 onion sliced and continue stirring until fideos get a golden color and the onion is transparent.
Add the tomato blend and let the fideos boil.
Incorpore chile serrano, cooked ground beef meat (including its broth) season with a little cumin, mix and let it boil until the noodles are soft.
Serve hot, with tortillas; you can add a few drops of lemon juice (optional).
