How to make a Mariachi Costume

How to make a Mariachi costume or Charro costume without spending too much.

The Celebration of Independence of Mexico is approaching and you can not miss a Mexican Fiesta, of course, proudly bearing the typical clothes of our country, whether of Chinese poblana, hero of Independence, etc.

If you want a homemade costume without spending too much, here I give you an idea to disguise man, mariachi or charro, it still serves you for assemblies or dancers of kindergarten or school and without spending much.

It is a homemade costume for children or men, mariachi, without spending a lot of money, without sewing and recycling clothes that we have at home or that you can buy in some second-rate store.

Heat the hot glue gun.

Place the trousers on a table, take the black slat transparently and measure the length of the trousers, from the waist to the ankle.

Leave about four centimeters more, which will be used to hide the slat inside the trousers and cut the two strips that will go to the sides.

Take a strip of the transparent black slat and place it on a plastic surface, so that it does not stick when placing the slat.

At one end of the black slat we start to glue the glossy cord, making a rounded zigzag shape, you can help yourself as I do, with some round accessory, so that the ornaments stay the same size, we continue until finish ing the two transparent strips.

Take the trousers and glue a strip on one side on the outside, hiding the tips of the slats inside the trousers, hitting them with silicone.

We’re still on the other side. We’ve got our pants ready.

Start with the jacket that will be the suit of the mariachi, the same way we did with the trousers, we measured around the two cuffs, also in the front of the closure, we make a strip for each side.

Here you can play with the design if you like it more decorated, because add more slat strips with the shiny lace, I just decorated the front part and leave the jacket open, simulating a sack.

Since we have these transparent strips cut, we repeat step 2 with all the strips, sticking the glossy slat.

When finished, we glue the strips on the cuffs and along, immediately the zipper or zipper.

We already have our Mariachi costume or Charro cosutme. We dressed our model with the trousers and kicked belt, the shirt inside the trousers, with the jacket or jacket open halfway, and finally with the red paliacate around the neck we make a knot.

If you have a hat add it and if not another idea is to put a paliacate around your head.

Ready! Rock your mariachi outfit!

And Viva Mexico!
