bacon wrapped Jalapeño poppers in the oven
Ingredients
- 9 Jalapeño
- 1 1/2 Cream cheese
- 9 Bacon slices
- Pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Wash jalapeños under tap water, without removing the tail. Pat dry with a paper towel.
Make a cut along with the peppers and remove the seeds and veins with a teaspoon as shown in the picture. Repeat this step with all the peppers.
Removing the seeds from jalapeños will make them less spicy. Make sure to wash your hands after doing this. If you really like spicy, you can leave the seeds, but they can be very hot, ay, ay, ay!
I always remove the seeds and veins, just like we make it with stuffed poblano peppers.
Cut some slices of the cream cheese or mash it if you prefer.
Stuff the jalapeños with the cream cheese or your preferd filling, with the help of a butter knife.
Wrap the peppers carefully with the bacon. You can use a toothpick to hold the bacon but it is not necessary. If using a toothpick, remember to take it off the jalapeños after baking them.
Put them on a baking sheet. Season with pepper.
Bake the wrapped-jalapeños in the oven at 350 F for 20 min.
After this time, change the oven settings from bake to broil to roast them for about three minutes or until the bacon turns golden brown.
Remove the poppers from the oven.
Enjoy these bacon-wrapped jalpeño poppers with flour or corn tortillas or serve them as a side dish.
