Chocolate cereal and marshmallow hearts for Valentine’s Day

valentine's day easy heart treats

These chocolate cereal and marshmallow hearts, are great to prepare with the kids. They can make these treats as a gift for their friends or enjoy with the family on Valentine’s Day.

Surely you will think that this recipe is very easy, but I wanted to make it because it is of my favorites, not so much because of the taste, but because it brings back very good memories of my childhood.

This is one of the first dessert recipes I made as a kid that I was really excited to give to my friends on Valentine’s Day or just to play.

Of course, I don’t remember using cookie cutters, I rather remember we formed balls with the mixture of cereal and marshmallow without using food coloring.

Dessert of Cereal and Chocolate in the shape of a Heart

The cereal and marshmallow hearts can be put in a cellophane bag or in a stick like a lollipop, there are also people who cover or decorate them with chocolate, but that’s optional.

I figured my daughter would like to do it, and she loved it, she’s already thinking what other figures to do. I hope you prepare it and enjoy it as much as we do.

CHOCOLATE CEREAL AND MARSHMALLOW HEARTS FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

Ingredients

3 Cups of krispies cereal

2 cups white or pink marshmallows

1 Heart-shaped cookie cutter

1 1/12 tablespoon butter

Red food coloring

Parchment paper or foil

Tray

CHOCOLATE CEREAL AND MARSHMALLOW HEARTS

Cover a tray with parchment paper or foil (in this case we must grease a little before starting making chocolate cereal and marshmallow hearts recipe).

Heat the butter in a pot, add marshmallows, and mix until everything is melted. Be careful not to burn the mixture.

Add the red food color as you like.

Stir in three chocolate cereal cups, mixing constantly until combined.

Mixing would be very hot. Carefully pour the mix into the tray and press with your wet hands or extend with a baking spoon. Extend until it measures about an inch high.

Let it cool down. After a few minutes it will get hard. Cut with the heart shaped cookie cutters.

Serve the treats into a plate and get ready to enjoy them or give it as a Valentine’s treat for your friends.
