Mexican Christmas apple and walnut salad

postre de manzana para navidad

Apple and walnut salad is a traditional Mexican Christmas dessert that can not be missed on Christmas Eve. It is called Ensalada Navideña.

The best thing is that in addition to being tasty, it can be made by your children, depending on their age, you may have to help them cut the fruit.

So while you cook dinner, they make dessert and they’re going to be proud to say they did.

The Mexican Christmas apple and walnut salad is very versatile, there are those who add carrots, chocolates, etc but this time I will share it as I usually make it, I hope you like it. Another favorite dessert for this season are Mexican buñuelos.

MEXICAN CHRISTMAS APPLE AND WALNUT SALAD ingredients

Wash the apples and cut them into small pieces, place them in a bowl.

Add sour cream, sugary milk and evaporated milk, mix.

If the pineapple pieces are too large, cut bits the size we cut the apple.

Add the pineapple to the apple along with the rest of the ingredients: the chopped walnut, almonds, raisins, mix and go!

If you feel sugar is missing, you can add syrup or pineapple can juice.

Get in the fridge and serve cold, as a dessert at your Christmas party.

And what else would you add to this salad?

Have you made it before?
